# Phaseplane

> Phaseplane is software for making sense of complex business problems. It connects the current situation, the desired outcome and the available evidence into a diagnosis you can examine and revise. It is designed for consultants and small consultancies doing recurring analytical work for clients. Phaseplane is a product operated by Aurion Dynamics, a company registered in the Netherlands.

## What it is

Phaseplane brings a client's situation and evidence into one structured analysis. You bring the context and professional judgment. Phaseplane helps make the structure of the problem explicit, including where the evidence supports an interpretation and where it does not.

It is designed for consultants and small consultancies doing recurring analytical work for clients, and for the strategy and change leads who work alongside them.

## What it does

The core analysis is the **Business Diagnostic**. You describe the current situation, what needs to change and what stands in the way, and select the evidence it should use. It returns a structured reading: an explanation of what appears to be driving the situation, which evidence supports, contests or narrows each finding, where the evidence stops, and candidate next steps framed by who can act and who can only influence. Evidence can come from PDF, Word, Excel, CSV and PowerPoint files and pasted notes or transcripts; Phaseplane keeps the source of each piece of evidence and records exactly which sources an analysis used.

- **Diagnosis.** Start with what is happening now, what the client wants to change and the constraints already in view. Add relevant documents, notes or other supported evidence. The analysis works within the information supplied; missing context still matters.
- **Evidence.** Diagnostic findings are presented alongside evidence relationships and uncertainty: what supports a finding, what challenges it and what limits what can be concluded. Structural explanations remain interpretations where the evidence does not establish causation.
- **Revision.** An analysis can be revisited as the evidence or the interpretation changes. When you revise, you record what changed, and earlier rounds are kept rather than silently replaced. A report can be exported from a versioned analysis for review and discussion.
- **Commitment Check.** For a specific proposal, Commitment Check considers how far the supplied evidence justifies proceeding: from further exploration, through a limited or conditional commitment, to a stronger commitment. It explains what is holding the boundary in place and what would justify more. It does not approve the decision.
- **Next steps.** Next-step planning helps turn findings into options and questions for the people involved, including signals to watch, questions to revisit and conditions that would warrant a reassessment.

## How it differs from a general-purpose AI assistant

A general-purpose AI assistant writes an answer. In Phaseplane, a language model drafts parts of the analysis inside a structured system: evidence stays linked to its source, the standing of each finding is determined from recorded evidence relationships rather than from the model's wording, facts the AI proposes must be accepted by a person before they change a decision assessment, and Commitment Check applies defined rules to decide how far the evidence goes. These controls make the result examinable; they do not make it infallible.

## What it is not

Phaseplane does not replace the consultant, establish facts beyond the evidence supplied or make decisions. It does not monitor an organization automatically: people observe what happens and bring new evidence back into the analysis. Phaseplane uses AI models as part of its analysis; its outputs are analytical support, not established facts or decisions, and the user remains responsible for checking them.

## How to start

Phaseplane is currently offered through design partnerships with a small number of consultancies:

1. An introduction, to understand the work and assess whether there is a useful fit. It is not a commitment to a pilot.
2. A case working session, scoped around an appropriate case, after agreeing what material can be shared.
3. A scoped paid pilot. Scope and pricing depend on the organization, the case and the work involved.
